Weekly Cleanup #3: City Centre

Mai Hoon Dhanbad held the third cleanup drive in its weekly series at City Centre, Dhanbad. Volunteers cleaned the statues of Lal Bahadur Shastri and of the tribal woman, and cleared the debris and waste that had accumulated around the statue area. As part of the drive, MHD also engaged with shop-owners from the adjoining mall, urging them to take responsibility for the upkeep of the surrounding area going forward.
Weekly Cleanup #2: City Centre

Mai Hoon Dhanbad held the second cleanup and public awareness drive in its weekly series at Gandhi Chowk, City Centre, under the theme "Swachh Dhanbad, Sundar Dhanbad: our responsibility, our resolve." The drive reinforced MHD's message that cleanliness is not the responsibility of the government or the municipal corporation alone, but a collective responsibility shared by every citizen. With this resolve, MHD will continue to hold a cleanup and awareness drive at a public place every Sunday. Residents are invited to join the effort and help keep their own wards and neighbourhoods clean, so that Dhanbad becomes cleaner, more beautiful and healthier.
Weekly Cleanup #1: Randhir Verma Chowk

Mai Hoon Dhanbad, with the support of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, held the first cleanup drive in its weekly series at Randhir Verma Chowk. Volunteers cleaned the public assembly (dharna) site and the surrounding area, removed posters and advertisements, and cleaned the Randhir Verma statue.
MHD President Pooja Ratnakar said that keeping Dhanbad clean is not the administration's responsibility alone but the duty of every citizen. She announced that MHD will hold a collective cleanup at a public place every Sunday, along with cleanliness drives in different wards of the city. Secretary Sanoj Kumar said that there has been enough talk of rights and that citizens should now also fulfil their duties.
Volunteers, municipal sanitation workers and local residents took part in the drive.
Civic Sense Awareness Campaign

Mai Hoon Dhanbad conducted a Civic Sense Awareness Campaign at Dhanbad Railway Station, informing passengers about the QR code system introduced by the Dhanbad Railway Division. The QR code allows passengers to report amenity issues — such as faulty fans and lights — for quick resolution. The initiative was carried out with support from DRM Dhanbad (Mr. Akhilesh Mishra) and Senior DCM Dhanbad (Mr. Manish Saurabh).
Cleanliness, Rail Safety & CPR Awareness Campaign

At Dhanbad Railway Station, citizen group Mai Hoon Dhanbad, the Dhanbad Rail Division, and Aarya Dev Samarpan Seva Foundation joined forces for an impactful public awareness drive focused on civic duty, cleanliness, and emergency response.
Highlights of the campaign:
- Life-Saving CPR Demo: Officials urged travelers that in sudden cardiac emergencies, "filming a video is not the answer — immediate CPR can save a life," followed by a live, step-by-step demonstration.
- Inspiring Street Play: Children staged the dynamic nukkad natak "Dhanbad Hamara Hai, Swachhata Ki Zimmedari Bhi Hamari Hai," drawing massive passenger engagement around protecting public property.
- A Call to Action: Senior DCM Manish Saurabh commended the initiative, while MHD President Pooja Ratnakar reminded citizens that while people readily claim their rights, fulfilling their shared civic duties is what truly transforms society.
Food Distribution & Health Awareness at Hindu Orphanage

Mai Hoon Dhanbad organized a food distribution program for children at the Hindu Orphanage. Alongside the meal, children were made aware of adopting a healthy lifestyle, maintaining personal hygiene, and building good habits for self-care, with special emphasis on cleanliness and education. Children were also encouraged to understand their responsibility toward their home, neighborhood, and society as aware citizens. A total of 35 people participated in this social initiative, reflecting MHD's commitment to building a healthy and empowered society through service, hygiene, education, and social responsibility.
Filaria (Filariasis) Elimination Drug Distribution
June 2026
In collaboration with the Health Department, Mai Hoon Dhanbad organized a medicine distribution program for filaria (filariasis) elimination at DVC High School in Panchet. Students and school staff were provided with the necessary medication to protect against filaria. Nearly 200 children and school staff benefited from this initiative, boosting community awareness and prevention efforts against the disease — an important step toward public health protection and disease elimination.
International Women's Day — Women Petrol Pump Workers

In collaboration with Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Mai Hoon Dhanbad celebrated International Women's Day with women working at various petrol pumps across Dhanbad's urban areas. The organization listened with sensitivity to the women's personal stories, struggles, and work experiences, honoring their contributions with small gifts of encouragement. The event aimed to strengthen the confidence, respect, and social recognition of working women, promoting respect, equality, and community sensitivity.
